Service Description
What does it mean to be a prophet? Do they still exist? Could you be a prophet or prophetic person? This course delves into the lives, messages, and impact of biblical prophets and prophetic people. We will explore the historical and cultural contexts of these individuals, analyze their prophetic messages and deeds while examining their relevance for today’s society. Through a combination of teachings, discussions, impartations and hands-on activities, you will gain a deeper understanding of the prophetic role in the Bible and what impact it has on us today. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: * Identify key biblical prophets and prophetic figures * Analyze the historical and cultural contexts of prophetic literature * Interpret prophetic messages and their relevance for today * Apply prophetic principles to personal and societal issues * Develop critical thinking and research skills related to biblical prophecy Sample of the course schedule: Week 3: The School of the Prophets The Lesson - Believing Is Seeing The Work - Look over the ancient teachings and practices that would have been learned at the school of the prophets Week 4: The Exposers Lesson - Say It Loud The Work - Compare and contrast the personalities and prophetic styles of Isaiah and Jeremiah Week 5: The Poets Lesson - Speaking Truth to Power and People Lab - Prophetic poetry analysis: Analyze the poetic techniques and imagery used by Hosea, Amos, and Micah; social and political context of the minor prophets This course will also cover topics like * Embracing Your Prophetic Identity * The Prophetic Voice in the Church * The Prophetic and the Pastoral: A Harmonious Partnership & More!
